Scholarship Honoring Al Johnston Kicks Off with $5,000 Donation

The Greater Severna Park Council voted to make a donation of $5,000 to the Al Johnston Scholarship Fund.

The Anne Arundel Community College Foundation and The Greater Severna Park Council have found a way to honor community activist, and long-time Severna Park resident Al Johnston.

On May 14, the Greater Severna Park Council (GSPC) voted to make a donation of $5,000 to the Al Johnston Scholarship Fund, according to a release from the Arnold Preservation Council.

The goal of the scholarship committee is $50,000. With $25,000 initially and an additional $25,000 added, when invested, should create enough income to cover the cost of a semester’s tuition for the courses in the Law and Jurisprudence Department for at least one student annually.
