A Crab Feast, Picnic, and a Rally Day Kept Locals Busy in Severna Park
Patch had its eye on these events over the weekend- see who's who in the park this week.
We received some clever suggestions for the Patch’s new Severna Park . Liz Beck suggested "21146” (think Beverly Hills 90210.) Patty O’Donnell Rush weighed in with “Severna Park Spotlight,” “Severna Park Laurels,” or “Severna Park A Go-Go.” Rachel Nelson thought “411 on 410” might be fun. There are a lot of different eras represented in these ideas. It’s still up in the air folks. Send us your Park-inspired monikers.
More than 100 guests attended North Severna Park Pool’s inaugural summer crab feast on Sept 4. Alyson Figoli, who chaired the event along with Michele Lechowicz and Jennifer Allgair, told us something we didn’t know. The is the oldest pool in Anne Arundel County. We learn something new every day.

annual Kick-Off Sunday Family Picnic on Sunday (Sept. 11) was a slam dunk. The picnic featured sack races, foursquare competitions, a moon bounce and live music from the Praise Band. The church, which celebrates its Centennial anniversary this year, also had a special tribute to the tenth anniversary of 9/11. A fire truck with its ladder fully extended displayed the American flag aloft prominently in the church parking lot.
Praise Team leader Hilda Gore said that Doughy Dogs, a program that the church actively supports, provided more than 450 hot dogs to the crowd. The Arundel House of Hope operates Doughy Dogs as a program to help homeless people understand and learn how to run small business. Woods Church has worked with the program for several years.
