Wrap & Brew Closed

Popular Severna Park eatery and coffee shop closed its doors last Friday.

To their surprise, regulars who pulled into the small parking area in front of the Wrap & Brew this week, were not met with their usual open seat in the window of the cozy eatery and coffee shop, nor offered their favorite morning snack and beverage.

That's because the door wouldn't open and there's a paper sign taped to it announcing the business' closure. The message states that the lease on the eatery, owned by Steve Boney and located on Benfield Road, was not being offered for renewal. Loyal customers also penned their disappointment and well-wishes under the message from Boney.

Anita Atwood, owner of Benfield Florist, said that the building that houses the flower shop and the small restaurant did get a new landlord, Drew Romans, as of June 1. "I know there are a couple of people interested in that space," she said.

"The closing is  a big concern for all of their customers," Atwood said, adding that an elderly gentleman, a regular at the Wrap & Brew, stopped in for his usual morning coffee earlier this week to be met with the closed sign. "I thought he was going to cry," she said.

Atwood is a 10-year-tenant. This is the first time the building has changed hands— it was formerly owned by Brian Brandon. Benfield Florist has been at the location for 26 years.
