Where to Watch the Ravens AFC Championship Game

Here’s a rundown of places around town that are offering specials during the game.

A 6:30 p.m. kickoff time for Sunday’s AFC Championship game featuring the Baltimore Ravens coincides nicely with dinnertime.

Whether you are looking to head out for the game, or stay in and catch the action, Patch has you covered when it comes to what to eat.

Here’s a rundown of local places to watch the game along with any carryout specials they might be offering if you plan to stay home.

Bill Bateman’s

Manager Rachel Divver said they will be expecting a crowd. During last week's game, Divver said "you couldn't even move" it was so packed with Ravens fans.

  • Start the Ravens celebration early with Purple Friday at Bateman's. On Friday the bar will offer $6 Bombs with pinnacle vodka, $3.50 Blue Moon drafts and 2.25 Miller Lite bottles
  • On Sunday Bateman's will offer 23-ounce Miller Lite drafts for $3.50 and you can add 10 wings to that for a total of $10.
  • Carry Out: Divver strongly encourages all orders be placed at least an hour before you wish to pick them up.

Adam's Ribs

Adam's is offering a variety of Playoff Packs that are great if your plan is to stay home and watch the game with some friends. All orders should be placed one day in advance.

  • Adam's Value Pack: Hot or mild wings; 1 pint of Bourbon beef or pork BBQ; 1 1/2 whole BBQ chickens; 2 full racks of ribs; quart of cole slaw; quart of BBQ baked beans; 10 dinner rolls (feeds eight)
  • Steamed Shrimp Trays: 26-30 count shrimp served with cocktail sauce; 5 pound tray $80 (5 pound minimum feeds 10-15 people)
  • Adam's Wings Trays: Your choice of hot, mild or honey BBQ; 5 pound tray (10-15 people) $35; 10 pound tray (20-30 people) $70; served with celery and blue cheese
  • Adam's Gator Wings: Spicy grilled chicken wings marinated in Adam's famous Gator Hot Sauce; served with celery and ranch; 10 pound tray (20-30 people) $70.
  • Adam's also offers Pulled Pork BBQ at $70 per gallon and Bourbon Beef Brisket for $80 a gallon.

Mother's is not offering any beer specials but promises a great atmosphere for the game. Manager Ryan Miller said if last week was any indication, they will be expecting quite the crowd.

Staying In?

If you're planning to stay in and avoid crowds and long lines for food consider making some of your own game day snacks. Here are a few of my favorites:

Make your own pizza bagel bites:
Grab some mini bagels, some Ragu pizza sauce and some mozzarella cheese. Slice the bagels, lather on some sauce and sprinkle the cheese on top. Let them broil in the oven for a few minutes, and keep checking them until the cheese melts. For extra tasty bagels try adding toppings. My personal favorite topping is green peppers, but you could also add some pepperoni.

Buffalo Chicken Dip:
A crowd-pleaser during football season, Buffalo chicken dip is a great addition to any football watching affair. Cut up three large pieces of cooked chicken and mix them with 1/4 cup of hot sauce, 1 cup ranch dressing, and a package of cream cheese over medium heat. Add a cup of cheddar cheese and mix until everything is well blended. Pour the mixture into a casserole dish and put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until it is bubbling. Add some chips and everyone will enjoy!

Ham and Cheese Pinwheels:
Like crescent rolls? Try them with ham and cheese. Lay the crescent roll flat, then roll them up with a piece of your favorite lunch meat ham and Swiss cheese, and slice the roll in half. Put them in the oven and follow the instructions on the can for baking and you’ll have a warm and delicious snack.
