The Big Bean To Host ‘Meet, Greet & Treat’

On Saturday, The Big Bean will donate 10 percent of its proceeds to the Maryland Animal Sanctuary and Rescue.

On Saturday morning you can enjoy coffee and a few furry friends at The Big Bean in Severna Park.

From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, The Big Bean will host a “Meet, Greet & Treat,” on its patio with partial proceeds benefitting the Maryland Animal Sanctuary and Rescue (MAS Rescue).

MAS Rescue is a small non-profit group that is dedicated to helping unwanted shelter animals whose time has run out. The group was founded in 2005.

“We were invited by The Big Bean for the event," said MAS Rescue founder Mary Snyder. "We have a local presence in the area because several of our volunteers live in Anne Arundel County."

During the event local Girl Scouts will be selling dog treats and The Big Bean will donate 10 percent of the day’s sales to MAS Rescue, according to owner Deb Hoffman.

MAS Rescue will be present at the event with dogs and cats. The group will also be accepting adoption applications for the animals.

"The Big Bean thought it would be a unique idea to partner with us and we hope to have a good time with the local community and meet new people who may not be aware of our rescue," said Snyder. "We will also showcase some of the dogs and cats that we currently have up for adoption. “

According to Hoffman, “If it is raining cats and dogs, the event will be held on Sunday.”
