Swimmer Lynne Cox To Visit Spark Running

The open water swimmer will hold a book signing at Spark Running in Severna Park.

How would you like to take a swim in 42-degree water? How about swimming the Strait of Magellan in water just 10 degrees above freezing?

Open water swimmer and author Lynne Cox did just that. And on August 6 she will be at Spark Running in Severna Park.

Cox is an extraordinary swimmer who has accomplished many open water swims including the Strait of Magellan in 42-degree water. She is also an author of the newly released book, Open Water Swimming Manual.

“Lynne Cox is a very well-know open water swimmer, and since we have a lot of tri-athletes in the area we wanted to start bringing more swimming events to our store,” said Spark Running owner Caitlin Burman.

At 7 p.m. on August 6, Cox will sign copies of her new book and talk about her many swimming adventures.

“I am looking forward to hearing about how she mentally prepares to do these long swims,” Burman said.

Anyone interested in meeting Cox is welcome to head over to Spark Running in Park Plaza on August 6.
