Severna Park Giant Expects More Bottled Water Today

In anticipation of Hurricane Irene, locals are flocking to area supermarkets.

Severna Park residents are wasting no time in preparing for Hurricane Irene. The Giant Food store was busy throughout the day on Thursday with bottled water, batteries and toilet paper in high demand as waves of shoppers stocked-up on supplies.

By Thursday night, the store was out of bottled water. Duane Smith, a store manager, said that every skid of water that arrived at the store was quickly sold. He's hoping that a shipment of water will come in Friday morning.
