Sport Fit’s Big Night Out Rallies Community Support

The event held on Saturday at Sport Fit benefitted John O'Brien of Severna Park.

For the second year in a row Sport Fit wrapped up another successful Big Night Out.

This year, the Saturday night event raised funds for Severna Park’s own John O’Brien, who was diagnosed with ALS last year. O’Brien, who graduated from Severna Park High School, and his wife are both Sport Fit members.

Fitness Director Joe Bocek said that when the gym first heard about O’Brien’s diagnosis, they knew right away they wanted to do something to help the family.

Sport Fit posted on its Facebook page this week thanking the community for their support of the event and the O’Brien family. They also shared a highlight video of the night’s festivities.

John O’Brien’s wife, Suzanne, commented on the post saying she and John were extremely grateful for the support.
