Speak Out: Are You OK With the Crematory Permit Approval?

Maryland Cremation Services in Millersville was granted a permit that allows them to install a crematory machine.

After a two-year battle with the community,  Maryland Cremation Services was finally granted a permit that allows them to install a crematory machine at its Millersville location.

Owner Dorota Marshall said the permit came July 24.

The permit approval has been a hot topic for residents of the Shipley’s Retreat and Shipley’s Choice area, which is located behind the Maryland Cremation Services location. Many residents were concerned about the air quality, with ash being blown up into the air.

In May 2013, many Shipley's residents turned out to a meeting on the permit issue to express their concerns.

However, now that the permit has been approved, the business will be installing a crematory machine in the near future. What are you thoughts on the outcome of this issue? Tell us in the comments.
