Severna Park Welcomes New Businesses

A yoga studio, ice cream shop and furniture store are set to open in Earleigh Heights Plaza and Atlanta Bread Company returns this month.

As always, the business community is humming. Many new businesses are opening soon in the Greater Severna Park area and that means new opportunities for our residents as far as shopping and also jobs.  With federal government and defense spending cuts possibly looming, it is critical that we support and nurture business growth and development in Maryland. Remember to support our local business community.

Things are especially active at the Earleigh Heights Plaza. Charm City Yoga is scheduled to open for business on Aug. 15. This will be their fifth studio location. Voted Baltimore’s Best Yoga Studio the past seven years in a row, Charm City Yoga offers classes and private lessons in several different styles of yoga. Community classes start at $6 and memberships are available. For more information, call 800-336-9642 (extension 1 or 2).  You can also visit www.charmcityyoga.com and click on Severna Park.

Right next door to Charm City Yoga will be Steven Howard’s Furniture and Décor Consignors. They are currently accepting moderate to high-end furniture and decorator accessories for consignment. They’re looking at a grand opening around Sept. 16-18. Anyone who wants their furniture considered, can email photos to fdconsignors@gmail.com for approval.

Another neighboring business we’ve all been watching at Earleigh Heights Plaza is Brusters Real Ice Cream. They’re putting on the finishing touches and hope to open by early September. Brusters was founded in 1989, and they have a full array of hand-crafted desserts.  Watch for more information as the opening draws closer!

Atlanta Bread Company, located at 551 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park is looking at Aug. 17 for their re-opening, which will be followed by a ribbon-cutting event a little later.

“We are extremely excited about the re-opening of the Atlanta Bread in Severna Park," Basil Couvaras, vice president and COO of Atlanta Bread Company International, said. "As part of our grand re-Opening, we especially look forward to introducing new items, such as our signature pizzas and omelets, to the Severna Park café’."
