Severna Park Super Bowl Hot Spots

Looking for a party? Join one underway at a local favorite hang-out or two.

Starting today, Patch will run a new weekly feature called Patch Picks, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more.

You’ll find useful lists to help you, your family, friends, and significant others find the best places for everything from Sunday brunch to New Year’s Eve celebrations, pumpkin patches, date night destinations, florists, girlfriend nights out, kids party places, parks and more.

Ok, ok, so the beloved Ravens aren't in it. We're over it.  That doesn't mean we can't have a good time Sunday.  We can root for Green Bay! And frankly, in a town full of displaced Pittsburghers, it may be wilder here than you think.

Super Bowl Sunday conjures up all sorts of images -- families gathering in family rooms with fireplaces roaring, friends sharing oversized platters of wings and dips, and let's face it, there's a beer or two involved.

If, like so many of us, you are in a Super Bowl state-of-mind this weekend and have your cheesehead attire ready to wear, or that Terrible Towel burning a hole in your pocket, it's time to don them and head out.

will be bustling, as usual. Though some Raven's Nest 10 members may have flown south for the winter, many will still be here to be sure to root against the "arch-enemy" and enjoy food and beverage specials in front of Bateman's big-screen TV's and packed bar.

(anyone else notice that these two SP favorite watering holes have double B names?!?!) is ready for its final NFL Game Day Special Night of the season. Drink and food delights are many. Spirit and spirits will be effusive. (Can spirits be effusive? Why not; it's the Super Bowl!)

Newly renovated will be serving up ribs and then some. Bring the family for dinner and/or stop by the bar where the real food festivities will be featured for the big event. Bar menu specials include: footlongs, stadium nachos and pit turkey and ham sliders. Throw in a cold adult beverage and you're good to go (or stay!).

Back Room will be elbow-to-elbow elbow-bending as the Steelers face-off against the Packers.  Headed to this Park Plaza favorite? Multi-TV's, $2 domestic beer, $3.50 imported beer and half-price appetizers will be waiting for you. Ahh and that fire, too!

Last, but not least, . They hardly need Patch to remind folks that this is the place to be if you are a Steelers fan this Super Bowl Sunday. Kinda makes you wonder if there will be folks lining up outside to get their reserve seats the night before. That's how packed they expect to be.

Drink specials and gold and black will be everywhere. Don't bother showing up at Shooters if you have a  (stinky) piece of cheese decorating your head. You will not be welcome.

All kidding aside, Severna Park has always been about friendly sports competition. Let's keep it that way and have a safe and super Sunday.   Baltimore Ravens in 2012!
