Ribbon-Cutting at Savvy Home

The Severna Park community celebrated the opening of the new consignment shop that features furniture and accessories for the home.

Newly-opened Savvy Home in the Village of Severna Park Shopping Center is already "at home" as sales and foot traffic exceeded the expectations of owner Stacey Cassidy.

An official ribbon-cutting by thewas held at the consignment shop on Friday and brought in a store full of well-wishers and community leaders.

This is Cassidy's second consignment store, the sister store is , a boutique-style shop specializing in brand-name clothing and accessories located across the parking lot in the same shopping center.

The shop opened last week fully-stocked with consigned furniture and accessories of which mostly all have been sold. "It has been great so far," said Cassidy of the foot traffic.

"It's tough to start a business in this economy. It's been a blessing and a challenge," she said.

County Councilman Dick Ladd (R-5th District) attended the event and said that the shopping center located in the heart of Severna Park — and the town itself – is very vibrant with local businesses and hopes the center continues to be a hub of activity.

Savvy Home is open daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon, 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Tues-Fri, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sun.
