Split Ends Salon raised $2,300 for suicide prevention on May 4 with its inaugural Morgan Beverly Festival.

The event featured raffles, activities for kids and business vendors in an effort to raise money for the Morgan Beverly Suicide Prevention Foundation. Split Ends co-owner Jennifer Hardison said the festival was very successful and the salon plans to do it again next year.

The founder of the Morgan Beverly Foundation is a Split Ends customer whose story had touched Hardison and the salon’s staff. Beverly’s daughter, Morgan, committed suicide in January 2009 when she was 16 years old.
