Local Restaurants Make Valentine's Day Special

Patch picks for making your Valentine's Day fun from sun up to sun down.

1)  Café Mezzanote in Severna Park– For those with the yearn for Italian, Café Messanotte on Ritchie Highway offers fresh, quality cuisine in an upscale and romantic setting. (A strolling violin is often seen throughout the dining room on the weekends.) The restaurant provides their 2011 Valentines Day menu, as well as coupons for various wines and tastings, on their website.

2)  Café Bretton in Severna Park – This local favorite is tucked away in a residential community on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. Its unique exterior and its beautiful interior with fresh flowers, an impressive wine list, and quality food using fresh ingredients (it has its own garden) make this destination an obvious Valentines Day choice.

3.) Brian Boru is always a popular spot, especially for the happy hour folks. Valentine's Day will have a special meaning here with a delightful menu geared toward pleasing the sweetheart in your life. Oysters Rockefeller, lobster, lamb and steak are among the special selections.

4.) Japanese steakhouse is an entertaining way to share a meal as the servers toss shrimp in the air and cook at your table. One of their specialties is Shrimp teppanyaki and Kyoto is known for their shushi.

5.) If you are more interested in a morning celebratio, head over to the Shop where there's more than just great coffee brewing. The shop also has a great selection of fine chocolate gifts, including a dark chocolate bar with sea salt and almonds and other delights worth checking-out for last minute gift ideas. Or, keep it simple and take your love out for a great cup of coffee and a homemade cookie- Yum.
