Jimmy John's Set to Open April 16 in Severna Park

The sandwich shop will open up at 537 Ritchie Highway.

Jimmy John’s, the sandwich chain that specializes in being “freaky fast” will open in Severna Park on April 16.

The store’s owner, Jerry Groves, lives in Pasadena and said he chose the Ritchie Highway spot in Severna Park because of the location and feel of the town.

“I have lived in Pasadena my whole life and I know the Severna Park area well,” Groves said. “It’s a great area and I felt like the area needed a good sub shop.”

Groves said Jimmy John’s is “freaky fast”—meaning that once you order, your handmade sub will be ready in less than 30 seconds.

“Our slogan is subs so fast you’ll freak,” Groves said.

Getting you food in a timely manner won’t translate into poor quality, according to Groves, who said all the meats and cheese are sliced at the store daily.

The sandwich shop also specializes in fresh bread. According to Groves, the bread has a shelf life of four hours and will not be served if it is out for longer than four hours.

“Our bread is our backbone,” Groves said. “It’s baked at the store and it's phenomenal.”

The Severna Park Jimmy John’s will also deliver to homes and businesses within a 5-mile radius. The store is hiring delivery drivers and sandwich bakers.

While the planning and construction of Jimmy John’s has been a whirlwind for Groves, he said he can’t wait for opening day.

“It’s just a really cool environment and a fun atmosphere,” he said. “It will be high energy and exciting.”

Jimmy John’s in Severna Park is located at 537 Ritchie Highway with an opening date of April 16 planned. Anyone interested in applying for a job should contact Jerry Groves by phone at 443-853-0126 or email Jwgroves6@gmail.com.
