First National Bank Expanding to Severna Park

First National will open a new location in the former M&T Bank location.

If you have been driving around Severna Park lately you may have noticed that the former M&T Bank building has finally been demolished.

The bank caught fire in August 2012, and has been vacant ever since. The building was knocked down a few weeks ago, and a new bank will take its place.

First National Bank announced it would be expanding Maryland services with a new Severna Park location. The bank currently has a branch on West McKinsey Road—across from Diehl’s Produce—but will open a new location on Ritchie Highway.

The new First National Bank will have two drive-thru lanes and a drive-up ATM. According to a release, construction on the new 2,800 square foot branch will begin in the fall of 2013, and will be completed in 2014.

Until the Ritchie Highway location opens, the First National Bank at 50 West McKinsey Rd. will remain in business.
