Breakfast Shoppe Serves 1 Millionth Egg

served its 1 millionth egg on Saturday to a woman who almost didn’t wait for a table.

Stephanie Freeman of Annapolis ordered the Severna Park restaurant’s milestone egg on Saturday, but Breakfast Shoppe Owner Kyle Algaze said the customer almost didn’t stay.

“She was actually about to leave because we were on a wait, but then she decided to stay,” Algaze said. “It was her first time in the store.”

The Breakfast Shoppe, , has been serving eggs for 22 years and has been in its current location for two years. Algaze said the 1 millionth egg idea was something he had been thinking about for a few months.

“It kind of had been burning in my head for the past few months once I saw how close we were getting,” Algaze said. “Then once we got really close I decided it would be cool to celebrate.”

The Breakfast Shoppe also had also been giving out gift cards worth anywhere from $5 to $50 on Friday and Saturday as part of the celebration.

“Really, we just wanted to thank our customers,” Algaze said. “That’s what the whole thing was about.”
