Local Filmmaker Seeking Extras for Severna Park Scene

"For Love of a Fish" will film a scene in Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse.

If you’ve ever dreamed of being in a movie, now may be your chance.

Severna Park filmmaker Don Hutcheson, of Liftoph Productions, is shooting a scene for his upcoming movie For Love of a Fish at Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse on July 19 and 20, and is looking for extras to fill the restaurant.

For Love of a Fish is a short film aimed to bring awareness to the issue of soldier suicide, Hutcheson said.

The goal of the film is to entertain and inform the general public about Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, military and veteran suicide and the real-life trauma many family members face when their loved ones go off to war.

The scene that will be shot at Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse, features a dramatic reunion of friends.

When the veteran and his wife meet with friends at Kyoto, “conversation heats up with potentially deadly consequences scraping the couple’s raw nerves and exposing the fragile but durable nature of love,” Hutcheson said.

The scene requires that Kyoto’s be filled on July 19 and 20, The scene will be shot after the restaurant closes at 10 p.m., and will finish at 5 a.m.

“There is a bonus, food at the restaurant, and of course, your 15 minutes of fame,” Hutcheson said.
