Catching Up With ‘Pippin’ Star Jessica Martin

The Severna Park High sophomore is playing Fastrada in the Catonsville Youth Theatre's production of "Pippin Junior."

Patch stopped by Severna Park High School to talk with a few drama students participating in the Catonsville Youth Theatre’s production of "Pippin Junior."

Sophomore Jessica Martin is playing Fastrada in the production, which includes seven Severna Park High students.

Severna Park Patch: How long have you been participating in drama, and what are a few productions you have participated in?
Jessica Martin: Three years. I have been in Our Town, Friday Night Fever and Pippin.

Severna Park Patch: What is your favorite part about being in Pippin Junior?
Martin: I think the characters are all really intriguing, and the plot is very dramatic and sexy. And I love all my castmates.

Severna Park Patch: What was one of your favorite roles you have played in a production?
Martin: I would have to say Sissy from Friday Night Fever because she was a hippie and she was lots of fun very weird. She was also very superstitious.

Severna Park Patch: What else do you like to do besides drama?
Martin: I am involved in a band and I write songs. Our band wants to be unique but we follow a folk/Indie vibe.

Severna Park Patch: What is one of your favorite shows that you have seen?
Martin: Cats it was at Hippodrome and it was so amazing. The singing was phenomenal but the acrobatics were outrageous.
