7-Year-Old from Severna Park Wins Washington Post Competition

The newspaper announced the results of its KidsPost NewsQuiz challenge.

Severna Park's own Chloe Marron, 7, took home the prize for The Washington Post's annual NewsQuiz, the newspaper announced Jan. 6.

The NewsQuiz challenges children to recall their knowledge of articles published in the past year in KidsPost, the children's section of The Washington Post. KidsPost has been around since 2000, and is geared toward 7 to 12-year-olds, according to the paper.

Severna Park's Marron is in good company. The communications director of C-SPAN said his children regularly read KidsPost, according to The Daily Caller. Twenty-three other children joined Marron in scoring a 10 out of 10 on the NewsQuiz, which included questions about everything from toys to a Supreme Court justice.

All children with perfect scores were entered into a raffle, which Marron won. Her prizes reportedly consisted of books, tickets to a children's theater and other goodies.
