Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Severna Park, County

The National Weather Service predicts a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

It wasn't a white Christmas, but snow started falling around Anne Arundel County on Wednesday.

Severna Park, as well as the county, is under a winter weather advisory issued from the National Weather Service (NWS) until 1 p.m.

"A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties," according to the release. "Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities."

NWS stated that people should expect a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Forecasters predict that a mix of freezing rain and sleet will continue throughout the afternoon.
