Weekend Planner: Rival Matchups, Holiday Festivities

Rival basketball games, tree lighting and sleigh rides are just some of the things happening around the Park this weekend.

Before planning your weekend, you may want to check out some of these activities. Click on the links for more information on any of the events.


When:
Friday, 5 p.m.
Where:
Severna Park Chamber and Park Plaza
Details: The annual lighting of the tree will take place on Friday and festivities will continue in Park Plaza. Local schools will sing, Santa will visit and sleigh rides are being offered.

Parents Night Out hosted by First Class Martial Arts
When:
Friday, 6 p.m.
Where:
First Class Martial Arts
Details: Drop you kids off for martial arts and games for free.

Winter Wonderland Carnival
When: Saturday, 9 a.m.
Where:
Jones Elementary School
Details: Enjoy games, crafts, activities, face painting, photos with Santa, music, refreshments and more.

Friends of the Arts Holiday Bazaar
When:
Saturday, 9 a.m.
Where:
Severna Park Community Center
Details:
The Friends of the Arts will be selling holiday items including fun holiday jewelry, gently-used ornaments and decorations.

Holiday Open House
When:
Saturday, 1 p.m.
Where:
Victoria's Fancy Foods
Details: Enjoy holiday cheer and celebrate Maryland. Taste wines from Maryland's own Black Ankle Vineyards as well as beers brewed in Maryland.

Rival Basketball Matchups
When:
Saturday, Boys 2:45 p.m.; Girls 4:45 p.m.
Where:
Severna Park High School
Details: The girls and boys basketball teams will take on rival Broadneck on Saturday.
