Top Bands at Upcoming Silopanna Music Festival

Severna Park High School grads and musicians involved in area's upcoming family-oriented festival.

Summer will be winding down, but the music will be winding up. The Silopanna Music Festival will offer fun and music for folks of all ages  on Aug. 27 at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in nearby Crownsville.

Get ready for food, fun and fabulous music right here in our own back yard. With misting tents to keep you cool, hula hoops to keep you happy, adult beverages to keep you happier, and lots of kid’s activities and vendors, be sure to mark this one on your calendar.

The one day festival will feature three stages and 18 plus bands to “feed your soul” according to event organizer, owner of Rams Head Tavern, Kevin Muehlhauser.

This (SPHS), Class of '95 worked with Rams Head Group vice president, Erin (Brunst) McNaboe, SPHS '96, to put together what promises to be the hottest ticket in town.

Muehlhauser and McNaboe have worked together for about 10 years, but actually knew each other from their days as Severna Park kids and neighbors in Round Bay. That SP connection remains strong to this day.

According to McNaboe, Rams Head is the place to work. The upcoming Silopanna Festival is just one of the many ways she gets to spread the word about good music in our area.

"The younger set will really enjoy the groups coming this year. It's Kevin's baby," she said. "He did a great job spearheading this and working with our marketing people to find the best talent available."

Festival acts include: Matt & Kim (who, according to McNaboe sell out every venue), Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Fitz and the Tantrums, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, The All Mighty Senators, and our very own SPHS hometown favorites,"" winners, Pandomonia.
