Super Bowl Recipes Using TODD'S DIRT

It's time to plan the menu for Super Bowl Sunday. Here are two you may want to add to the mix.

*Editor's Note:

If you're entertaining this Super Bowl weekend, Patch has a story about Severna Park resident Todd Courtney, otherwise know as who has been developing and marketing his Todd’s DIRT seasoning locally for a few years.

"The Dirt Man" shared two of his recipes with Patch. Although we've not tasted them, they look easy to prepare and sound tasty. For a list of where you can purchase The Dirt, see by Patch contributor Carrie Hilliard about how one man's love of a spice changed his life.

Here are some suggested recipes using seasonings:

Dirty Wings

Chicken Wings (any amount)

Olive oil

Original Todd’s DIRT (to taste; I suggest to Dirty them up real good) or Crabby or Bayou Dirt work well too.

Turn the oven onto broil. Brush olive oil on wings. Sprinkle Todd’s DIRT on both sides of the wings. Cook in oven for 30 minutes, turning wings once.

Dirty Pepperoni Dip (pg. 8 of cookbook)

8 ounces cream cheese (softened)

16 ounces sour cream

4 ounces tomato sauce

½ cup pepperoni (diced)

¼ cup green onion (diced)

2 teaspoons Todd’s DIRT (to taste)

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend cream cheese, sour cream and tomato sauce together. Add in diced pepperoni, green onions and green pepper (chop these ingredients in a food processor to make the job easier).

Add in crushed red pepper and Todd’s DIRT. Cook 15 minutes in oven. Add mozzarella on top and return to oven until cheese is melted (5 minutes).

Serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy!
