Stats on Severna Park's Class of 2012

Graduation will be held on June 1 at Towson University.

The Class of 2012 will officially graduate 460 seniors during a ceremony at Towson University's Towson Center at 10 a.m. on June 1.

Here are the stats and trivia for the graduating seniors:

  • 70 percent of the students are going to a four-year college.
  • 30 percent of the students are going to a two-year college.
  • 60 percent of the students are attending Maryland colleges.
  • 40 percent of the students are going out-of-state colleges.
  • One student will be attending Cornell University, an Ivy League school.
  • More than $13 million in scholarship money was awarded to Severna Park students.

According to Beth Murphy, a counselor at the school, four students will be heading off to a service academy—three to the U.S. Naval Academy and one to West Point.

Each student received six tickets for guests to attend the graduation. The school will be closed on commencement day to allow the entire faculty to attend.
