SPHS Class of 1981 Gather for 30th Reunion

A long weekend of camaraderie and fun for former Severna Park High School classmates.

Over 250 classmates from class of 1981 were in town last weeekend to attend their 30th class reunion.

Three days of events included a Friday night football game where the Falcons fell to Old Mill (It's still early in the season- go Falcons!) and then afterwards many gathered at for a fun get re-acquainted mixer.  Saturday was filled with many spending time with family in the area or eating crabs, and meet-ups.

That evening the main event was a soiree held in the atrium of the Loews Hotel in Annapolis.  This was an exceptional event, with a short four hours of catching up with one another over cocktails and butlered hor’s deuvres.

Retired Coach Andy Borland was in attendance and it was obvious he enjoyed time with his former athletes and beauty queens alike.

Homecoming Queen, Bobbi Matters-Heidorf traveled from Louisville and Sweethearts Queen, Kim Torgersen-Baque traveled from Omaha, Nebraska to be with friends.  Classmates traveled from all corners of the continental US to be together, and many agreed to return for the next reunion in 2016.

Local author Jaime Schneider, who was featured on , held a book signing for his debut novel, “In the Shadow of Silver Lake” with proceeds donated to the reunion committee for future events.

The weekend ended with a brunch held at the hotel. The reunion committee was co-chaired by Betsy Buckley-McKeehan and Tricia Stock, with members that assisted Laura Wells-Phipps, Molly Wray-Winkler and Jaime Schneider, and others.
