SPCC’s Haunted House Offers a ‘Scary Time’

The community center's Haunted Holy Grounds opens on Friday night and runs through the weekend.

Looking for a good scare? Then check out the Severna Park Community Center’s annual haunted house, which opens on Friday night.

“It’s a scary time and definitely not for little kids or those who scare easily,” said Jennie Boden, community center director.

Haunted Holy Grounds features a guided tour through a bunch of different rooms with live actors and surprises at every turn.

“It is designed to thrill and scare,” Boden said. “We never like to repeat themes either. So while there may be some hints of previous years there are a lot of new surprises too.”

Boden said Haunted Holy Grounds will feature photo galleries, a torturer chamber, clowns, a mirror tunnel, an apothecary and more.

You can also enjoy a meal in the graveyard before you embark on your scary adventure. Garry’s Graveyard Grill will return on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and you can enjoy a picnic dinner in the cemetery.

I am not afraid to admit I am not brave enough to venture into the Haunted Holy Grounds, but are you? Tell us in the comments.
