Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Sarah is a Principal’s Honor Roll student who has recently earned an spot with the GU13 Baltimore Bays DCFA Siafu team.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:  Sarah started playing soccer when she was 4 years old and plays all year long.  Sarah has also made Principal’s Honor Roll since third grade, when grading began.

In her nomination submission, proud mom Michelle Gellert describes Sarah’s rigorous schedule and achievements: 

“Sarah maintains a very high demanding sports schedule. Her schedule is very extensive for a girl of her age. She arrives home from school at 4:30pm, completes her school work and then travels to [soccer] at least 4 days per week.”

Sarah has been tapped to play for the Baltimore Bays DCFA Siafu team.  This traveling soccer team is trained and coached by Denison Cabral, veteran of the Baltimore Blast and founder and director of the Denison Cabral Futsal Academy. Attesting to her maturity and readiness, Sarah will be on a team with girls a year older.

Michelle Gellert added, “In her very limited spare time, Sarah can be found practicing her skills in her own backyard, working out in the local gym with her parents and assisting with the development of younger soccer players at the … At such a very young age, she demonstrates a tremendous amount of discipline to excel in both academics and sports.”
