Severna Park Resident Wins Record Jackpot at Hollywood Casino Perryville

Joe Cashen, 62, of Severna Park, is no stranger to winning—or losing, when playing the slot machines at his favorite casinos. He considers playing high level slots his "outlet" and moves on either way, win or lose.

Which is what he is doing now that he just won the largest jackpot, $75,000, in the 10-month history of the Hollywood Casino Perryville on Friday. "I got lucky," said Cashen who was presented with a check from the casino on Monday. He's already spent some of his winnings, is planning a brief trip to Ocean City and the rest is already in the bank.

Cashen, who owns an asphalt and concrete company, won the big bucks playing the Triple Double Stars $25 machine during his lunch hour on Friday while he was at a job site nearby. "I was on the way out and had a thought to stop by a for a few minutes. I hit the jackpot, that was nice," he said.

His advice for those who are new to casino gambling: "You should go to have fun, play the dollar slots, it's fun to do that," said Cashen.
