Severna Park Family Gives Back with The Sharing Foundation

The Haydens of Severna Park had a busy Christmas Eve.

One Severna Park family spent Christmas Eve helping Santa get a jump-start.

Sisters Grace, Seren and Rose Hayden traveled around Anne Arundel County with Santa to drop off toys for children in need, through a program called The Sharing Foundation, The Capital reported.

The Sharing Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Arnold that is completely run by volunteers.

Each year, The Sharing Foundation said it provides gifts for approximately 500 children who otherwise may not have received any because their families had fallen on hard times.

Families are identified as eligible through a partnership with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

There are multiple drop boxes and fundraisers so the organization can gather gifts for the children before Christmas.

Of the more than 475 recipients, most picked up their gifts before the holiday, according to The Capitalwhich reported a handful received special visits from the Hayden elves and Santa, arriving with an escort of Maryland State Police, Annapolis police and county reserve police officers.
