Severna Park Church Served Homeless on Thanksgiving

Volunteers at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church tended to those less fortunate on the holiday.

Members of one church in Severna Park had Thanksgiving dinner with people they had never met on Thursday.

Volunteers at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Severna Park fed and provided shelter for 82 people who were homeless or had fallen on hard times on Thanksgiving, according to ABC 2 News.

Our Shepherd is a member of Arundel House of Hope, a group of more than 75 organizations that serve the homeless in Anne Arundel County by providing shelter and other services to help people transition into independent living.

Groups within Arundel House of Hope take turns providing places for the homeless to stay throughout the winter.

The church on Benfield Road began its winter relief efforts Nov. 25 and will continue through Dec. 1, according to its website.
