Plan Your Halloween Weekend Fun

Don't forget the Kid's Halloween Bingo at Earleigh Heights on Sunday in Severna Park.

Get some extra mileage out of your Halloween costume this weekend by donning your disguise and heading out to one of these events happening around the area. There are opportunities for runners, kids, adults and even pets to get into the spirit.

What: Halloween On Ice

Where/When: 1 p.m., Saturday, , Bowie

Why Go: Donate canned food to the Bowie Food Pantry as well as door prizes, a costume contest, treat bags and music.

Cost: $3 skate rentals

Where/When: 8 a.m., Sunday, Big Vanilla, Arnold

Why Go: The race begins at Big Vanilla in Arnold with the course running through Anne Arundel Community College. Participants must be 13 and will be entered into a raffle for prizes from the event sponsors. The proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Kid-friendly activities at the race start/finish line.

Where/When: noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, , Severna Park 

Why Go: Costume contest, haunted lab, prizes, crafts

Cost: Three cards for $8

 

What:

Where/When: 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, , Annapolis

Why Go: Enjoy games and prizes for costume contests such as Most Annapolitan, Funniest, Scariest and Dog-Owner Combo, while helping to raise money for the dog park.

Cost: $6 per dog, $5 online pre-registration

Where/When: noon, Saturday, 988 Galesville Road, Galesville

Why Go: Pumpkin and face painting and other fall activities. Narrated hayrides and village walking tours. Oktoberfest foods, cider and beer to drink. A collection of 15 to 20 antique tractors.

Cost: Free, minimal cost for food.

Where/When: 8 a.m. Saturday, Fort Meade Pavilion, Fort Meade

Why Go: Show your Halloween spirit during this fun 5k, where runners are encouraged to wear costumes. The run is open to the public.

Cost: $15

 

What: at Big Vanilla Athletic Club

Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday at , Pasadena

Why Go: It's a great chance to get fit for a good cause.

Cost: $5

 

What:

Where/When: 4-6 p.m., Friday at , Annapolis

Why Go: The event features apple-bobbing, face painting and other festive events. There will also be a costume parade.

Cost: $6

 

What:

Where/When: all day, Friday, , Upper Marlboro

Why Go: Homeowners in all stages of remodeling, landscaping and decorating their homes can visit hundreds of exhibits at this free home show. Exhibitors include merchandise booths, product demonstrations and sample interior/exterior vignettes. Times vary each day.
