On Wednesday, Baskin-Robbins in Severna Park Offers 31-Cent Scoops

Discounted ice cream coincides with firefighter fundraiser.

On Wednesday, the franchise in Severna Park will offer a 2.5-ounce scoop of ice cream for 31 cents from 5 until 10 p.m. as part of "31-Cent Scoop Night." This is the fifth year for the scoop night event, which will also be a fundraiser for firefighters.

According to a statement issued by the ice cream maker, in 2009, there were an estimated 356,200 residential building fires in the United States, resulting in 2,480 deaths. During each one of these fires, firefighters risked their lives to protect the lives and property of citizens.

So, during the 31-cent Scoop Night event, there will be an adjunct fundraiser for the National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation (NFFF). Baskin-Robbins will be making a $100,000 donation to the NFFF, and is asking customers to support the group as well by texting a donation. Details on texting a contribution can be found at the Severna Park  Baskin-Robbins store.

In addition, Baskin-Robbins has introduced a new flavor, "Firehouse #31." The new ice cream is a blend of hot and cold. The ice cream includes crunchy atomic fireball pieces, red hots candy pieces, and ribbons of hot cinnamon in cold vanilla ice cream.

Firehouse #31 will be available during the promotion, however, customers can select any flavor of ice cream for their 31-cent scoop.
