Making Floats for the Fourth of July Parade

Entries are taking shape around Severna Park as communities, schools, and organizations put the finishing touches on their patriotic floats.

The clock is ticking..is your float for the parade finished?

Lori Glebocki, a (SPES) parent and her neighbor Ryan Szego, 10, a fifth-grader at SPES, were busy working on the school's float on Saturday preparing it for the Severna Park Parade that starts on Monday at 10 a.m.

The float is a "celebration of our history," said Glebocki. The school will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2012. The theme is "All American Students" featuring an old-fashioned school house and will be accompanied by SPES students and their mascot "Boone" the bobcat.
