IndyCar Racer Makes Pit Stop at Severna Park Giant

Marco Andretti, an IndyCar Racer, signed autographs at Giant on Thursday.

Before hitting the streets of Baltimore this weekend for the 2013 Grand Prix, IndyCar racer Marco Andretti swung by Giant in Severna Park to sign autographs for fans.

Andretti will drive the No. 25 Dr Pepper Chevrolet car during the IZOD IndyCar Series race on Sunday, September 1. Giant Food is one of the sponsors of the 2013 Grand Prix of Baltimore.

While posing for photos, and signing autographs for fans, Andretti said he was looking forward to this weekend's race.

"We've been on a decent top 5 streak and I'd like to keep that going," Andretti said. "It'd be great to get a trophy. I'd love to win Baltimore."

Andretti, the grandson of IndyCar legend Mario Andretti, is currently fourth in the IndyCar Series point standings, but is still seeking his first win of the season.

Andretti races on a team owned by his father, Michael. Michael Andretti operates a sports marketing firm that has assisted in promoting the Baltimore Grand Prix.

IndyCar fans can see Andretti race through the streets of downtown Baltimore and along the inner harbor, Friday August 30 through Sunday, September 1 for the 2013 Grand Prix.
