First Spaghetti Dinner at SPCC a Success

The 14th annual spaghetti dinner was held at the Severna Park Community Center on Saturday.

For the first time the Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) hosted its annual spaghetti dinner on the SPCC property, and it was a rousing success.

The 14th annual spaghetti dinner was held on Saturday and Executive Director Jennie Boden said it was great to be home.

“It was great. We certainly thank St. Martins in-the-Field for hosting all those many years, but it was really great bringing dinner home to the community center,” Boden said.

For the past 13 years the dinner had been held at St. Martins, but the SPCC was able to host it on property this year. Boden said the change in location allowed many dinner-goers the chance to venture into the SPCC for the first time, and in turn see all that the center has to offer.

While they are still calculating exact numbers from the dinner, Boden said the crowd was excellent.

“People said that they loved being in the center, Boden said. “We had a great turnout this year. It was just a great year, and there was lots of excitement in the room. All of our donors were back this year in full force, and it was a really fun year.”

Boden said she would like to offer a special thank you to all of the sponsors, event chair Kurt Ivey and co-chefs Wally Smith and Kathi Carr.
