Songs of Insects Walk

Join USGS entomologist Sam Droege for a Songs of Insects walk around Overlea.  We’ll listen to insect songs and try to catch a glimpse of the singers: katydids and crickets.

This walk will help get you ready to participate in Cricket Crawl 2012—an evening sound census of late summer insects on August 24.  As we walk we’ll be focusing on the eight target species of the Crawl. To preview and listen to those eight, and to learn about the Crawl itself, visit http://tinyurl.com/7y5trym.

Where? Natural History Society of Maryland, 6908 Belair Road, Baltimore, MD 21206-0750. www.marylandnature.org
