Earth Day Exposition in Severna Park April 30

8th annual Earth Day Expo to be held at Severna Park Middle School featuring 50 exhibitors, vendors, shred-it truck, activities for kids, food and drinks.

The theme for this year’s being held at the Severna Park Middle School  is “Go Green, Earth Day and
Everyday” and will feature over 50 exhibitors from local businesses, communities, volunteer
groups, and schools who will be sharing a wealth of information on how we can
improve the water quality in our watersheds. In addition, there will be earth-
friendly activities for children making this event a great time for the whole
family to enjoy. The Expo will be held rain or shine since
the middle school can accommodate the exhibits in the event of bad weather.

One popular service being offered again this year is the “Shred
It” truck which will be on hand to dispose confidential documents. This service
is offered as a fundraiser for the Severna Park Community Center, please remember to make
a donation when visiting the “Shred It” truck.

There will be an indoor food court located in the school
cafeteria staffed by the Men of St. Martins church featuring  hamburgers, snacks and drinks.

Local businesses will be on hand to provide information on

volunteer organizations will offer valuable environmentally- friendly information on
gardening, recycling, and "rainscaping." Local animal rescue groups will provide
information and opportunities for giving animals a good home.

Once again the Master Watershed Stewards will be selling and
taking orders for the popular Arlington Echo rain barrels, and the Arnold
Preservation Council will be selling very reasonably priced native tree
saplings to improve local habitat.

local rivers is not improving as hoped - water quality remains an important
issue to help improve aquatic life in our creeks, rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay. This
Expo is a great “one stop” event for the entire family to have fun while
learning ways to reduce pollution sources in our homes and businesses.

Sponsors for the event are the Greater Severna Park
