Director of Severna Park Methodist Church Nursery School Angela Gahs is retiring

Over 100 people attended the surprise retirement party in Severna Park.

The parents group of the (SPUMC) Nursery School (Snoopy School as it is known by many) had a surprise retirement party for the director Angela Gahs on May 15.

Over 100 friends, family, co-workers and students, past and present, came to show their love and support for Gahs along with cake, drinks, munchies, crafts and entertainment by Wild Willy Woo Woo.

Gahs has been connected with the pre-school for 24 years. First as a parent, then an aide, then a teacher, and in 2003 she became the school's director.

"She has been a tremendous asset to the school and is much loved by staff, parents and students." said Sharon Stelmaszek, a retired teacher.

" Angela is responsible for many changes and improvements to the school as well as its playground. She has also continued to maintain the school's excellent reputation in the community as a loving, caring safe haven for a child's  first school experience," she said.

Current teacher at SPUMC Nursery School, Mary Ann Petruska said "Mrs. Angela Gahs will truly be missed by all at SPUMC Nursery School. She has accomplished so much as an educator and director."

"Everyone has greatly benefited from her leadership and guidance over the past eight years as nursery school director. All of her hard work and dedication will have an everlasting affect. I wish Mrs. Gahs a happy retirement and again will miss her very much."

Mrs. Gahs was a wonderful leader for the Snoopy School. Both of my children attended while Mrs. Gahs was Director (in fact, my youngest just "graduated" this week) and they always remarked how fair and kind she was to everyone at the school. I'm certain she will be missed!
