Community Center Hosts Wedding Extravaganza

The Severna Park Community Center will host a wedding show on Nov. 9.

Getting married involves making a lot of plans.

You have to find a caterer, someone to make invitations, perhaps someone to plan it and of course a dress. Well the Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) is going to help brides-to-be get all the information they need in one place—at its Before You Say “I Do” Wedding Show.

Inspired by Holy Grounds recent Home Depot makeover, the building will be transformed into a wedding destination on Nov. 9, and will be stocked with information every bride needs.

“This is the first time we have had something like this,” said SPCC executive director Jennie Boden. “After the renovation people thought it was really nice, and considered having a small wedding or reception there. So we decided we would hold a small, intimate wedding show as a way of introducing the venue to local brides-to- be and their fiancés.”

The show will have everything from florists, to caterers, to cake makers, to invitation specialists and more. Boden said there would also be models on hand to show off a few dresses.

The Before You Say “I Do” Wedding Show will also feature a champagne reception with giveaways and gift baskets. Holy Grounds will be spruced up in order to show off what a potential wedding reception venue would look like.

“Our hope is folks who are interested in seeing Holy Grounds for any sort of event — not even a wedding, but a birthday party or shower — can stop by and look at it,” Boden said.

Tickets for the Before You Say “I Do” Wedding Show are $10 a person and can be purchased online. The show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 9 at Holy Grounds, located next to the SPCC at 623 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd.
