Birthday for Linda Schaible; Ravens Nest at Bateman's

Patch had its eye on the Park this weekend. Send us news and information about your parties and events in your neighborhood!

Long-time Severna Park resident Linda Schaible turned 60 this weekend and she is proof that 60 really is the new 40.

Lot's of friends and neighbors turned up at Debbie and Roger Howard’s beautiful waterfront home in West Severna Park to wish Linda a happy birthday. Linda's devoted hubby Carl and daughter Kelsey played a big role in the party planning planning as did pals Betsy Delaney and Cindy Belkov.

The group enjoyed some delectable munchies served by Tara Dell and Lily Streaking of the future catering group Dell & Streaking. Plenty of chitchat, birthday cake and music made the party a truly memorable event.

Some of those who attended included Kevin Delaney, Nancy and John Rutledge, Amy and Joe Quinn, Peg O'Connor and Scott Burns, Trish and Mike Davis, Crissy and Bill Gardner, Karen and John Strange, and several other friends and well wishers.

Bill Bateman's Bistro was packed on Sunday with members of the Ravens Nest Number 10 who gather at the bar and restaurant for every Ravens game. The organization represents North Anne Arundel County and generously supports many charitable causes including the SPCA, Special Olympics and Hospice of the Chesapeake.

The Nest's 75 members receive good deals from Bateman's on game days including a $5 all-you-can-eat buffet and other specials on drinks and food. Johnny Johnson, president of the club, said, "it's just a great group of people who share a common love for football and like to be around other people. We just have a great time."

Johnson's brother Rick owns the memorabilia store Man Cave. He sets up displays of autographed memorabilia from the Ravens and other sports team for fans to purchase at good prices.

Also sporting the purple was the one and only Purple Dame (Cindy Pierce.) Pierce is the first female Ravens fan inducted into the Pro Football Ultimate Fan Association and founding member of the Baltimore Ravens Purple Club for Women.
