Annual Opportunity Builders Inc. Links Challenge Raises 20K

Golfers from around the Severna Park area played to help raise money for OBI.

The 8th Annual Links Challenge brought close to 80 golfers who raised $20,000 for Opportunity Builders Inc. (OBI) of Millersville, according to a news announcement.

The event was held at Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena on June 13 to help raise money to benefit the advancement of OBI’s programs and services.

Bingo World was Outing Sponsor and also donated the golfers’ goodie bags and had three foursomes.

Johns Hopkins Healthcare, LLC was this year’s Eagle Sponsor and the three Birdie Sponsors included; Jefferson Leasing, Moran Insurance and the Civitan Club of Glen Burnie.

According to the press release, the first place team was a Bingo World foursome including: Ed Slacum, Heath Anschel, Stephen Bruce and Rich Colmus.

Second place was awarded to Mike Tuck, Mike Caporaletti and Tom Chicca.

Third place went to Matt Lehmann, Bill Buck, George Dalton and Scott Cameron.

OBI is in its 49th year of operation providing vocational training and employment services to nearly 450 adults with developmental disabilities. Being productive and being able to work allows the adults OBI serves to experience a true sense of purpose and meaning.
