DR. SEAN ETTER TO JOIN HIS FATHER IN VETERINARY PRACTICE

Severna Park native Sean Etter is returning to Maryland to join his father, Robert G. Etter, in veterinary practice at Pasadena Animal Hospital. He will begin seeing patients on June 9.

"I'm ecstatic to have my son, Sean, join my practice!” said the senior Etter.  “He'll bring a new and exciting perspective to Pasadena Animal Hospital. We share professional values and enthusiasm for practicing veterinary medicine.  He'll be a great and welcome addition to our practice."

The younger Etter is a 2002 graduate of Severn School, where he played football and lacrosse. Off and on during high school, he helped out at his father’s animal hospital and started thinking about becoming a veterinarian himself. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in 2006, and, afterward, an externship at the National Aquarium in Baltimore with the herpetology department. Then, after working at the Philadelphia Zoo in its education department and at the Delaware County SPCA, he decided to go to veterinary school.  He then enrolled at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School in Scotland, and spent time working on a sheep farm where he helped deliver and care for a large number of sheep.  He transferred to the University of Illinois, where he graduated with honors in 2012. Between semesters, he traveled to North and South Dakota reservations to work with the Rural Area Veterinary Service, an international organization dedicated to the health care of animals in rural areas. He then completed a one-year rotating surgery and medicine internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, followed by a year in private practice.

Sean and his father share more than their love of animals and passion for the profession of veterinary medicine; they are both avid sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts.

The senior Etter founded Pasadena Animal Hospital in 1986, putting his excellent diagnostic skills to work in a setting that allowed for personal relationships with owners and their pets. As their clients think of their pets as members of their families, the doctors and staff at PAH treat clients like members of theirs. Located at 3007 Mountain Road in Pasadena, Dr. Etter has been voted Best Veterinarian in the Baltimore Region by Baltimore Magazine and Pasadena Animal Hospital has been a finalist in the Capital’s Reader’s Choice awards. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 410-255-2300.
