Arts Council of Anne Arundel County Hosts Successful Gala

Arts Council staff and volunteers are still putting away the masks, plumes, and beads from their 2014 annual fundraising gala—Brazilian Carnival!—hosted at the BWI Hilton in February, but are already looking forward to next year’s gala.  “Carnival will remain our theme,” says Arts Council Executive Director April Nyman, “But a new country will be the focus next year.  It’s our one major yearly fundraiser and we are grateful for the continued community support that helps fund visual arts, performing arts and historic preservation for Anne Arundel County.”

Over 265 guests attended Brazilian Carnival!, and over $30,000 was raised at the gala which was sponsored by BB&T Bank, Baldwin Kagan Gormley, Righttime Medical Care, M & T Bank, One North Wealth Services, Johns Hopkins Healthcare, Sandy Spring Bank, and COPT.  A silent and live auction, glamorous dancers, and Brazilian music made the evening a memorable event.
