1. Fire Damages Taco Bell in Severna Park
A fire at the Severna Park Taco Bell on Ritchie Highway took firefighters less than 20 minutes to get under control early Friday morning, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

Before hitting the streets of Baltimore this weekend for the 2013 Grand Prix, IndyCar racer Marco Andretti swung by Giant in Severna Park to sign autographs for fans.

Students at Jones Elementary had an abundance of extra excitement for the first day of school as interim superintendent Mamie Perkinsgreeted students and toured the school Monday morning.

4. Local Bicycle Collection Has Global Impact
On September 7, Severna Park resident Ann Jackson will once again be hosting a bike collection at Pedal Pushers in Severna Park. The collection benefits Bikes for the World, an organization that ships bikes to developing countries, to enhance the lives and livelihoods of residents through better transportation.

5. Local Girl Scout Earns Highest Honor
Severna Park High School graduate and local Girl Scout Gretchen Compere recently earned the highest honor you can achieve in Girl Scouting.
