Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) Grants Showcase Event
Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT), a women's giving circle focusing on at-risk women and famiies in Anne Arundel County, has announced that nine organizations have been chosen to receive grants totalling $103,364 from the group beginning in July 2012. The award receipients and their programs will be introduced at a Grants Showcase Reception to be held on Wednesday, June 13 from 7-9PM at the Francis Scott Key Auditorium Lobby at St. John's College, in Annapolis. The event is free and open to the public, and will give interested women an opportunity to learn more about AAWGT and its mission and programs. More About Severn School
Severn School is a college-prep private middle and high school, serving boys and girls in grades 6 through 12, with small class sizes averaging 14. The school was founded in 1914 to provide academic preparation for the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. Douglas H. Lagarde was appointed headmaster in 2006, and is the ninth Head of School in Severn's 92 year history. Three academic buildings, four athletic fields, the Alumni Walkway, Memorial Gymnasium, the Edward St. John Athletic Center, a number of outlying buildings serving as faculty housing, the APA House, and a buildings and grounds facility sit on the property. The school offers a variety of clubs and after school activities, and has multiple JV and varsity sports teams.
