BLOG: Bracketology; Teams to buy or sell

As the time begins to dwindle on bracket submission, many are finding themselves scrambling to have the best brackets possible. Yet many are just going with the higher seeded teams which can spell trouble during this years NCAA tournament.

If you are one of the millions of bracketiers who are looking for a little help in filling out your brackets here are some tips.

  • Syracuse who is ranked #1 in the East bracket may fall early due to losing their starting center Fab Melo, the 7 footer was declared ineligible by the school and cannot participate in the tournament. Also during 3 of the games the Melo missed earlier in the season the Orange dropped one of there two loses on the season.
  • Going with a #1 seed in the first round is a lock, number one seeds are 108-0 in the round of 68.
  • Look for Florida State to go deep in the tournament, with 2 big wins against ACC juggernauts North Carolina and Duke they have proven they can play.
  • If you are looking for a 5 to 12 seeded team to advance then look for #12 VCU. The Rams (28-6) went to the Final Four last year and are poised for a repeat. Behind a solid defence and leading scorer Bradford Burgess they have the weapons and mindset to make another run.

With that said I have made a Final Four that will ensure a thriller. In the South division i have #1 Kentucky advance after taking down #2 Duke in the Elite Eight, Kentucky has an experienced lineup and has shown that they can play even though losing their conference championship. In the east i have Florida State advancing as one of my wild cards after beating Ohio State and Vanderbilt. Down in the South bracket I believe that Missouri will surprise everyone and will go to the Final Four, even though they are a #2 seed. Finally in the Midwest bracket i have North Carolina advancing over Kansas. After the Jayhawks won it all in 2008 they have not appeared in the Final Four since and North Carolina's lineup is the nation's tallest and has mostly all seniors starting.

Finally the moment we have all been waiting for, in the championship North Carolina will play Kentucky. Both teams are #1 seeds and are very good organizations, but i believe that North Carolina is the better team and has the experience in players and coaches, plus UNC is the top rebounding team in the nation and that wil be hard to stop.

Who are you picking, what your cinderella team this year and who will come out on top? Leave your picks and any questions below.
