2012 BALLOT QUESTIONS: ARE YOU FOR OR AGAINST?
Thursday, October 25, 2012
7:00—8:30 p.m. Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church
On November 6, Anne Arundel County voters will be asked not only to elect their federal, state and local representatives but also to vote on 7 statewide ballot questions and 15 county charter amendments. Do you know what the issues are?
The League of Women Voters of Anne Arundel County invites you to a free informational program on the 2012 ballot questions.
Please join us as League members impartially discuss each of the ballot items, provide background information, list the pros and cons, and explain the meaning and outcome of a vote FOR or AGAINST.
Woods Memorial is located at 611 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, in Severna Park, MD 21146. For more information about this event, email info@aa.lwvmd.org.

This should be interesting to see if the League of Women Voters can be impartial about these ballot questions. Wonder if there will be an opportunity for input from the audience.

This is an educational function of the League, so any stance we have on an issue will not be part of the program. We will just explain the questions.

Oh Susan….how wrong you are!!!! I went to this and the presentation was so outrageously biased that about 5 people eventually left. But before they did, they openly criticized the LoWV for the obvious bias and tried to argue some of the "facts" only to be shot down by the LoWV. What's more, on some of the questions from the audience who were seeking clarification the LoWV could not answer them. It's a good thing Dick Ladd was there from the County Council because he was able to address some of the questions concerning the charter amendments. I will give credit to the woman who handled the charter questions though because she obviously did her homework and presented in an unbiased manner. But then, none of the proposed charter amendments is controversial.
