Worker Burned by Propane at Severna Park Business

Police report a Suburban Propane employee was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 52-year-old worker for Suburban Propane received serious burns while filling a propane tank at the in the Robinson Crossing Shopping Center on Ritchie Highway on Sunday, fire officials said.

As the worker was filling the tank, a spark flashed, causing 18 percent burns to his hands, arms and face, in addition to respiratory burns, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Steve Thompson.

The man was taken to the Baltimore Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.
