Weekend Planner: Spaghetti, Homecoming, Pet Adoptions

SPHS football vs. Chesapeake
When:
Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Where:
SPHS
Details: The Falcons (3-3) will host Chesapeake (3-3) during their homecoming game Friday night. Severna Park is coming off a 40-21 loss to South River.

Free Self-Defense Class
When:
Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.
Where:
First Class Martial Arts
Details: This free women’s self-defense class that will teach women how to defend themselves in scary situations—and how to avoid those situations all together.

Meet, Greet & Treat
When:
Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon
Where:
The Big Bean
Details: From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, The Big Bean will host a “Meet, Greet & Treat,” on its patio with partial proceeds benefiting the Maryland Animal Sanctuary and Rescue (MAS Rescue).

Animal Control Adoption Day
When: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where:
Anne Arundel County Animal Control shelter located at 411 Maxwell Frye Rd. in Millersville
Details: The event will feature live music, face painting, a reptile display, and various rescue groups with adoptable pets, food and refreshments.

Severna Park Community Center’s Spaghetti Dinner
When: Saturday, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where:
St. Martin’s in the Field Church
Details: Ledo Pizza will provide the pasta and several other local businesses are pitching in for the cause. You can buy tickets at the door.
